The building of a mosque is a way for a person to continue to earn blessings after death. As a community, we are trying to establish an Islamic center where the community can continue to grow, gather and benefit from each other. Muslims in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada are raising money to establish their first mosque in Castlegar, BC. Currently the closest mosque is about a 3.5 hr drive to Kelowna, BC or a 3+ hr drive to Spokane, WA, USA. The Muslim community is growing in Castlegar and we are in need of a place to establish the 5 daily prayers and perform Jumaa prayers in congregation as well as having a place to hold our weekly Islamic/Quraan school for the youth.
